Dear Christine, John, David and Mary (Sr. Laurence),
I was saddened to hear today of the passing of your Mam and sister. As a child in the fifties I remember when she came to live beside us in Bigger Road. She was so pretty and had such a beautiful voice, always singing as she went about her housework. Popping in and out of each other's houses, she and my mother shared a lot over the decades, not least the odd glass of Baileys.
With gratitude, I especially remember and appreciate Esther's concern for and attention to my mother during Mam's last years in Bigger Road.

They were both incredibly kind to Breda and Elizabeth when Paddy's brother Charlie died prematurely.
