I have so many wonderful and happy memories of times spent with her in St Luke's. She had such a great personality, full of character, humour and general warmth, always ready for a sing song with her beautiful voice, not to mention her great repertoire. The Gooseberry Tree, will always stay with me.

So sorry for your loss, but at the same time I am so happy that you had Etha for so many years of your lives. She was a wonderful and happy person that seemed to always be laughing and enjoying life. My siblings and I first met her when we came to visit with our mother in 1961...she and Uncle Pat made us feel right at home...despite being only 10 years old at the time, those memories are clear and so pleasant. Over the years during their visits here to the U.S. and our visits back to Cork she was always a pleasure to be with....the happy demeanor she always seemed to have was contagious and made you feel the same. So from the Barrett's here in the U.S. please accept our sincere condolences mixed with the happy thoughts and memories of having known Etha. PS...I have one of her paintings on the wall in my bedroom!
