To Joe, Glenn and extended family, deepest sympathy on the sad passing of Eithne. She was a lovely neighbour and a lady. Rest in peace Eithne.

Ethna was overflowing with personality. Her favourite way to spend her time was in prayer: praying for Glenn, for her grandchildren, friends, for Joe, Howth community, the world, and just enjoying the bliss and consolation of prayer. Her suffering was plenty, and she bore it joyfully, uniting hers with God Incarnate's suffering. She was gusty and had a temper of sorts and a shrewdness. She banked everything on her faith, and at the end of the day won life's puzzle, as when one closes one's eyes one can visualise her glory. You can keep me in your prayers now, gracious Ethna. Tell my mam hello from me and that I'm doing grand.

When i think of Ethna I always recollect her colourfully dressed for the Easter play in the church along with other women following Jesus which she really was in life, so devoted to praying and to pray with her was hypnotic as her voice would lead you strongly into the prayerful state of mind into the stream of it and I think that Ethna's Spirit is felt so much in Howth Church of Assumption hovering over us all during the Mass time and mysteriously touching every and each of us at a particular moment! Thank you, dear Ethna, pet, as you used to say, for showing your strong way in life.
