Dear Dolores and family,
It is with sadness and many good memories that we heard about Eugene's Passing. We wish you, his family and friends a lot of strength in this difficult time.

Sincere condolences on Eugene's sad passing. I had the pleasure of working with him many years ago in the IDB and enjoyed his company on many occasions since then. He was one of life's true gentlemen and will be sadly missed.

I was so sad to hear of Eugene's passing. I'm glad I got to tell him, years ago, what an important person he was in my life. You too - for all the scruffy teenagers who would regularly invade your garage, up to no good.
I'll never forget how HAPPY he was to see us and looking back - I can't understand, frankly, how you put up with us. I'll always remember him taking my face in his hands, even after I'd been living abroad for years, and saying "I'm so HAPPY you're here! I love you kids", describing how at about 3 or 4 years old, I'd "come up the road draggin' Aidan behind you and said, 'Dis is me little brudder’", before throwing his head back laughing at the memory, slapping his knee.
The space you gave us all in your hearts and home, trips to the bad ass cafe, or looting liquorice and chocolate, was incredible. I hope you know that, and if you ever want to remember Eugene with us, how he would shed a tear of joy when we would get the guitars out, his unending pride and surprise as Jules became better and better on the guitar and banjo, singing 'Allelujah' or the Beatles, we're here for you.
His big heart must have almost exploded with love for Kelvin, and I'm so glad he got to meet him. Kelvin will inherit Eugene and Jules' sense of humour - Jules can get even the saddest of groups laughing so hard they almost lose their lunch. It's a wonderful skill to have in sad times.

Dear Carr family and extended family my deepest sympathy with you all at this sad time. I had not met Eugene but was just learning via my work with TCC before he died all about his great achievements. He certainly was a man of vision and intelligence and I hear great warmth. This is a lovely photo of the gentleman. I am sorry I did not get to meet him. He sounds like an inspiration to all in many ways. Fiona Keane

So sorry to hear of the passing of Eugene, we worked together for many years in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s in the Irish Dairy Board when he was running the cheese department in conjunction with John Mc Querins. A quiet , serious, and hard working person who identified a business opportunity outside of the Board and was very successful. I went to visit you in room 606 the day after we last spoke only to hear of the very sad passing of Eugene. It was so lovely to meet you both, and thank you so much for your words of comfort to me, especially during your own difficult time. I am truly sorry to hear this sad news. Eugene was a pioneer of the cheese industry, known and respected far beyond Ireland and yet he was incredibly unassuming and humble. Always quick to praise and never short of a kind word.
