It is with sadness that I have learned of Eugene's death. It was heartening to read all the lovely messages of condolences. I can concur with them all. I remember him giving recitals in the famous Bob Smiths on Highfield Road in Rathgar. Eugene was extremely unassuming and could sit down at the piano and accompany a singer or violinist at sight and that is some achievement. The Bohemians would have been a natural home for Eugene's talents and gifts. A man of man interests he was a regular visitor to Noel Cloneys amazing Hi-Fi shop to see the latest technical advances in sound production. May the good Lord reward you with the unspeakable joys of heaven. Thanks for the lovely things you brought to our lives.

Eugene was one of life's gentlemen. He taught me so much back in the day when I worked with him in the IT section in BIM. His musical talents knew no bounds and he regularly played the organ in St. Brigid's Church, Killester. He will certainly be missed in the parish. Rest in peace Eugene.

I came to know this very unassuming and talented gentleman when he joined the Bohemans In 2009. He could make the piano sing and he enthralled us in whatever genre he chose to play. May the strains of that wonderful music bear his gentle soul to the choir of angels in heaven.

Eugene, his sister May, his mother and his father, were our lovely next door neighbours for many years, who also became good friends.
Eugene was a gentleman. I would like to thank him for the many years of wonderful piano lessons for myself, and our son, Colman. It was wonderful to hear hime play, teach and interpret the many pieces by classical composers.
We are very sad to hear of his passing. Go raibh dheis Dé ar a anam.
