I have very fond memories of Eugene from my time working in Rua's Redcross, always a true gentleman and always made sure to come in and sit with me and have a chat if I was ever working on my own on a quite Sunday in the winter.

Eugene was a gentleman. He was well known to the members in Santry G.S. for giving words of encouragement and sound advice. A quiet word while sipping a pint in the BH often settled a query from a younger member. May he Rest in Peace.

As a young lad in Fitzgibbon St in the early ‘80’s, Eugene was my valued and admired mentor, protector, guide & support.
A fair, wise and firm Garda who served the people on North Inner City with compassion, discretion and respect. Eugene, the Tan as he was affectionate known to his colleagues and friends set me on the right road and bid me a fair wind. For his life, character, presence and soundness, I shall be forever in his debt.

God rest you Eugene - while we are here, your spirit will continue to live and influence for good and right ➕
