Eva lived her life with distinction and excelled as a wife, mum, nan, sister, aunt and friend. I beheld a dazzling bride at her wedding to Joe marrying into a clan but never that way herself; always inclusive, never exclusive.
I recall her sad teary eyes at Joe's funeral but her first words were to ask how me and mine were, she was not one to talk about herself but ask of others.
Eva and Joe's farewell party just prior to moving to Ireland was memorable. Her first year there was very hard due to the untimely demise of her sister with Eva taking in her four children & raising them as her own. Francis's first anniversary mass highlighted the tragedy and sacrifice all taking place. Eva's amazing parenting is testament to the intense grief felt equally by her sister's and her own biological children as well her love of every one of the grandchildren.
Eva attended my 21st birthday party (expecting Jarleth), memories captured and when Eva engaged with you there was no-one else around even in a crowd, she listened first and spoke second. When she made a friend it was for life, ask Auntie Pauline or Gwen with who she spent many happy holidays in Spain.
In this crazy, chaotic, and often cruel world its so hard to tick all the right boxes throughout a life but Eva fully managed to achieve it through love. compassion and kindness.
Bless you Eva 🙏 RIP and will forever appreciate your warmth & kindness ♥️
