To the whole Bourke family, who I was lucky enough to share many great times with when growing up, I am very sorry to hear Evelyn has passed away.

I think of her often in many little ways. Every single time without exception that I make soda bread, I think of her on a summer’s day, light streaming in, me sitting somewhere with Emmanuel, Vivienne and Winnie, and her in the thick of it, laughing away while cooking or baking.

She was a clever, generous, kind and witty woman, and I loved her very much.

Sally Thinking of you especially at this time of sorrow and pain on the death of your lovely mum...May she rest in peace with Patrick in the loving arms of Jesus. I know how much she meant to you and all the family and while I didn't get to know your mum I got to know her through you my dearest friend who she brought into the world and raised with your dad amongst a large family and you did them both proud. I worked with Evelyn many years ago and will never forget her kindness and friendship.
In later years I enjoyed our phone calls and her lovely letters to me. She always gave me such good advice.
She was an extraordinary woman and I was lucky to have met her.
May the light of heaven shine upon her and may she take her well deserved place in heaven.
