To the Devlin family, Mr. Devlin
( Owney) , Helene, Mick, John ,Pat and Michele, our deepest condolences on the loss of your dear mother and devoted wife , She was ”one in a million”. ❤️
Because I cant be at her funeral I will have to share here;
A great neighbour with the Coogans and she always had a good word about her neighbours. She kept my oul dad on his toes and the things they used to say were so original, she always was well up to him, word for word, and the craic was daily and always in great spirit. She would always have a laugh and he loved her for that. Not to mention the all-Ireland Galway or Dublin and the pound note under the stone on the back wall and the things they used to say at half-time. Or
”Betty its raining on the washing ” and always remember the chocolates coming over the back wall from Cadburys in the white bags, a dream for kids, encouraging us with the bands to play in the backshed which meant a lot for us, playing football on a summers evening with the lads and my dad letting the dog over the wall to get in on the game. Great memories from Maryfield crescent. Around 60 years as neighbours and never a bad word.
And last but not least my own daughters were always welcome in by Owen and Evelyn when coming back to see my own mam and dad. Always a wave from the window ❤️
May She rest in peace ( I can imagine the craic up in heaven). The wonderful ways of a proud Galway woman.
