Saddened to hear of Dereks passing, he was a friend to my brother Liam Greene SJ and teacher to my sons .We appreciated knowing him,he was patient, kind and knowledgeable.

Such a kind gentleman who made us feel so welcome to the school at the first year mass a few years ago. Never saw him not smiling,very witty and some great sayings for life. Rip Fr Cassidy
I knew Derek in the early '60s,when he worked for a period as a barman in Molloy's ( if memory serves me right) down in Talbot St, and in Mungret college SJ Limerick..He was always a softly -spoken gentle man. May he rest in peace

So sorry to hear Fr Derek has left us. He was a great friend to my brother Iain. He officiated at his wedding and his funeral. Such a kind man. May God grant him peace.
