Such a lovely man! We were so sorry to hear that Fearghal had died and send all our condolences. We played with him over so many years and everyone will miss him.
His funeral was a touching tribute & just showed how people felt about him.
Thinking of his family especially at this time.

Fearghal had a special place in the hearts of his colleagues. Much admired for his fine playing and musicianship,he was loved for his humility and kindness.
I send my sincere sympathy to all his family--your loss is the greatest,but all who esteemed Fearghal as man and musician will miss him enormously,particularly his friends in the RTE CO.

We were so sorry to hear of Fearghal's passing. We hadn't met up for many years but still regarded him as a true friend and a gentle soul with a wry sense of humour. Going back to IYO and ECYO days for Mark and for me to the RTESO, the Concert Orchestra and Prelude Brass in the 80s. He played at our wedding almost 41 years ago and we only have the fondest memories of him. Rest in Peace old friend.

Fearghal was a remarkable horn player and such a kind person.
I am grateful I got the chance to know him and I feel so honoured to have shared the stage with him on many occasions. Fearghal will be so dearly missed by all the Irish horn community.

We, as a family are saddened to hear of Fearghal’s passing. Our father Tom Briggs was 3rd Horn in the RTENSO for many years, so we grew up hearing Fearghal’s name being mentioned as Dad would have played with him many times in various music ensembles . Over the years Fearghal would send Dad a recording that he come across with them both playing. Dad really appreciated the thoughtfulness . Even after our Dad in died 2021 Fearghal continued to send recordings to our Mum which we were all touched by.
