I was deeply shocked to learn of Fergals untimely passing. Fergal was a friend and former work colleague of mine. I have lovely memories of working and socialising with Fergal and we always had a laugh doing both. I met him a few weeks before Christmas and we said we’d meet up in the new year. Unfortunately I was away when Fergal departed and the new year arrived without Fergal.

Like so many others we were saddened and shocked to hear of his untimely passing on New Years Eve.
The many beautiful and heartfelt condolences that have been shared here need no further words of ours to tell of the man that Fergie was, how much he meant to family and friends, and indeed how he touched the lives of all who had the good fortune to have known him in the course of his lifetime.
I will always carry fond memories of having the banter with him and his good friend Gerry Ryng at the counter in the Rising Tide , yet knowing better than to get into the debates between them both…one couldn’t be found accused of taking sides between these sparring partners, or should I say mischief makers!
Fergie, your visits and warm smiles will be sorely missed by all in the shop , as will your salutes to the passers by as you journeyed the roads of Glounthaune and Little Island.
It was a privilege and a pleasure to know you.
