So sorry to hear about Fergus. He was a kind, generous and all round good guy who was the life and soul of the party. Everywhere he went he would make friends, and I'm glad I got to know him and spend time with him when he lived in London and the couple of times I visited him in Valencia.

It’s hard to describe the type of character that you are Ferg, truly unique that you needed to experience and I am glad that I had the pleasure of doing so. One of the first people that I had met in Valencia and how welcomed you made me feel. A generous man who cared dearly for his friends, I’ll be toasting a “martini” to you mate. RIP Ferg

I was deeply shocked to hear the passing of Fergus. I have some wonderful memories and he takes credit for getting me involved in horse ownership. He brokered a deal over lunch at Zuma many moons ago with young Richard H and the relationship was set. We shared some horses for a number of years, always named with the letter R as he had his way !

A great guy and loyal friend. He showed kindness to my father and my grandma in their elder years wheeling them around race tracks was not easy ! But he was always kind and thats what I will remember him mostly for.

I am so sorry I can’t be in Dublin to pay respects in person but my thoughts and prayers will be with the family on this sad day.

Hopefully they have a bar stool ready for you up above Fergus. Taken too soon but not forgotten. Rest in peace.

Fergus was an amazing man.

Very occasionally in life do you meet a truly remarkable person. Ferg certainly qualified as such. Remarkably intelligent, humble, kind, (at times cantankerous!) but ultimately magnetic.

He was so much to so many and the outpouring of grief especially from the Irish community in Valencia is a testament to that. I think we are all better for having known him. I loved hearing his stories of his time working in London and New York and our discussions about our shared passion of racing; the Breeders Cup, the owners and trainers bars, the Hannons, McCoy, the Prix de L'Arc etc etc. We didn't always agree but he was generally proved right.

Sincere condolences to the family of which he always spoke so fondly. His untimely passing has left Valencia with an empty bar stool but with a definite legacy left behind. A true one-off who will be sorely missed but happily remembered.

What a kind, courteous and fantastically vivacious man is gone. My sympathies to Mary, Tim, John, Irene, Therese, Evelyn, Dominic and Ciaran. The great memories live on.

A pleasure to have known Fergus - I am very sorry to hear that he is no longer with us - i will remember the absolute fun it was to be in his company.
