It is with deep sadness we have learned of the passing our dear friend Fergus R.I.P. He was kind, engaging, jolly and most of all the consummate gentlemen. We had the pleasure of socialising while holidaying in Gran Canaria over many years. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family at this difficult time, may he now rest safely in the arms of the Lord.

Sad to hear of Fergus passing, I have known him for many years as he
was sacristan in the \Star of the Sea in my parents time, and I frequently
met him until recent times after morning mass in in the Star of the Sea.

My condolences to the Murray family on the passing of Fergus. I haven't seen Fergus in many, many years. I was an altar server in Star of the Sea church and Fergus was sacristan. I have lots of fond memories including Fergus teaching me to drive in his Triumph Herald. They were great times.

What can I say about Fergus that have not been said,he was a special person,he was a brother and all my family in Egypt are mad about him,they loved his visits to Egypt and they loved having him.I have promised him last week not to cry but I didn’t keep my promise,I’m sure he will forgive me.To say that I will miss him will not express how I feel.I know he is happy now and as he said he will be waiting for me in heaven.Rest in peace my friend and thank you for being my friend

Saddened to learn of the passing of Fergus, a stalwart of Sandymount and for many years the sacristan of St. Mary's Star of the Sea. As a one time altar server at the church and a former resident of Sandymount I have many and nostalgic memories of Fergus and those times.

So sorry to hear of the death of Fergus. I first got to know him ten years ago and he was very kind to me. I always loved our catch ups over coffee. He was a wonderful person, known to all in Sandymount, and loved in equal measure. The village won't be the same without bumping into him on Sandymount Road. May he rest in peace.
