So sad to only hear of Fergus' passing. He was my god father and in my 36 years, he never once forgot to send me a birthday card. His kindness and thoughtfulness has had such an impact on my life.
Rest in heavenly peace gentle soul.
Thinking of your family. Especially coming up to Christmas.

I was very sorry to hear about Fergus' passing. He was a kind and thoughtful man, who will be greatly missed.
May his gentle soul Rest In Peace.
Sincere condolences to Fergus family.
He greeted me very kindly when I visited my young sister and nephew Nathan, twelve years ago and was very helpful to them while they stayed in Ireland from France.
I was very saddened to hear this afternoon, Saturday, November 11, that Fergus had passed.

He was a beautiful, very gentle, and extremely kind man, and it was always a privilege and a pleasure to be in his company.

I knew him in Presentation College, Glasthule, in 2006-07, where he was a wonderful teaching colleague, and where I also helped him in his study of French: he was a very willing, diligent, and attentive pupil.

Subsequently, when I moved into the Parish, I knew him again at Guardian Angels Church, where I discovered, and relished, his mischievous - and most amusing! - sense of humour. Again, as always, he was great fun to be with.

Yes, I am sorry he has left us, but am sure he is with the Lord. He was such a good man. RIP, dear Friend.
Sincere condolences to Terry and the extended O'Brien family. He was a very dear friend to my late husband, Fergus. We shared so many memories over many years. Eilo O'Neill

Mr o brien welcome me every mooring when i was doing the post in Wynberg for some years Fergus was a gentleman rest in peace Fergusw
I have known Fergus since we attended Legion meetings together in Newman House 60 odd years ago. He was one of nature’s gentlemen.
He had a great capacity to laugh, mostly at himself. He had a great love for money. He loved giving it away. He had an unusual understanding of banking. I recall an occasion when he borrowed money from a bank to help repatriate an acquaintance . I’m not sure what he told the manager.
I am more inclined pray to Fergus than for him. I feel it wold be doing him a disservice to grieve at his dying. May he revel forever in the rapturous joys of paradise. Fergus, it was a privilege to have had you as a friend.
Next time we meet, as hopefully we will. You will be my FOREVER FRIEND.

Steve
We will always remember the genuine kindness of Fergus. He was a dear friend of us and we won't forget the talks, the jolly time and laughters we had years ago.
We wish him now a peaceful journey to his next home, and we keep his memory in our hearts.

Dear Terry and family, we offer our condolences on the passing of your beautiful brother Fergus. He was a very dear old friend, a true gentleman and a living saint. He was so gentle and kind and always had words of wisdom to help others. His love of Our Lady, the Eucharist, the Legion of Mary were central to his life and I have no doubt he is been rewarded in Heaven where he will suffer no more. May you rest in peace Fergus.
