Finbar and I first met in April 1970 and a friendship that continued to this day. I’ve missed our lunches in Dalkey/Dunlaoghaire and of course Whelehans Loughlinstown. He was always there for his IGB friends and one always consulted him before buying a car as you well know

My first memory of Finbar was in his IGB days and I was a fledgling cashier in Chase Bank, we then renewed our acquaintance in The Trekkers and then yet again in Old Conna …. As fine a person as you could meet and a true gentleman…. My sincere condolences to all his family

Sincere condolences to Ann Marie and family on Finbar’s passing. Finbar was one of Old Conna’s long standing members. He loved playing golf. He played golf at a good pace, hitting the ball mostly without any practice swing, and away the ball and he went. It was a pleasure to enjoy several rounds in OC in his company. We recall that Finbar and Ann Marie won the club’s mixed matchplay tournament in 2009. He will be fondly remembered in Old Conna.
