It was with great sadness that news of Finbarr’s passing reached us here in the Gambia. Over many years he was a good friend to the Gambian people by his generous sponsorship in supporting them in their educational, medical and housing needs for which there were many. He brought London to Killarney and we so enjoyed his company. Remembering them both getting lost in west Cork and ending up in "Neidin" en route to Killarney. They were heady days. Finbar was with me texting weekly through my saddest days as my James was ill and we continued to chat daily up until Finbar’s passing.. I thank you Finbar for your friendship and hope that you and James are kicking up your heals together in heaven.. take care my friend and may you Rest in eternal peace..

I am so sad to hear of Barry's death. He was a very good friend when we were growing up together. Had a few dates, a few drinks and many laughs. Stayed in touch for many years but eventually we drifted apart. Within our circle of friends he is often mentioned especially with his memories on Macroom Yesterday. Rest in peace dear friend, rock on in the Ballroom in the sky.
