Finbarr (Timothy) O'Mahony

Finbarr, a gentleman always. I met "TAF" as a student in the early 1980s at WRTC. His influence on my life was significant and endures to the present day. I was saddened to hear of his passing. Condolences to his immediate family and all who mourn his loss.

My sincere condolences to Bernice and family on hearing of Finbarr passing RIP,I met Finbarr in the late 1950s and we played in two showbands The Thunderbeats and the Vards he was an amazing musician and a gentleman RIP.

So sorry to hear that Finbarr has left us for the next life. I got to know Finbarr some 40+ years ago through my work, and later he became such an important member of the choir (WMVC) which I also, of much inferior talent, am a member. In his own quiet and gentle way he endeared himself to all who were lucky enough to interact with him.

I first met Finbarr at the "Tuesday Night Club" in Waterford. I then met Bernice, Louise, Vicki andOwen. My friendship with the family has endured for many years. I know that you will all greatly miss Finbarr. Unfortunately, because of a fall, I will be unable to attend the funeral , but I will be with you all in spirit and in prayer.

We Both went to Spain On our First Holiday 18 yrs of age.
We Both were in a Showband “The Vards”
Finbarr was the best left hand guitar player I ever met and held his own with the likes of Hank Marvin back then .
Finbarr had a very high iQ and use it to achieve a great academic career which he earned himself by earning many scholarships
We was a perfect gentleman in his dealing with others ,
Tramore &Waterford have lost a truly exceptional man ,
Finbarr RIP-they only allowed gifted left hand guitarist in to heaven and you are number 1.

Heartfelt sympathies to Bernice and family and the wider family on the passing of a great colleague and friend over many years at WIT. Thanks to Finbarr (belatedly) and those colleagues in the famed "Tuesday night club" of yore for valuable advice on helping me secure my job at WRTC/WIT/ SETU (as of now) where I was priviliged to work with TAF and colleagues over many years. He was a fantastic colleague (very helpful) and good friend, and he will be greatly missed, not just by his family of course, but by a host of friends and colleagues in many diverse areas including choir singing and others. I fondly remember one time we went on holiday to Nerja (in southern Spain in 2011) and being in a pub, someone handing him a (left-handed guitar) when I saw a whole other side to TAF never seen before (his rock & roll years).
