Ah, Fenian, as I knew him, seeing him or Ma Murray almost every day in their Londis Supermarket when I first started as a teacher in the Dela, living in Hoar Rock. So amiable and knowledge in our chatting. So less political than MA Murray who stood up to my socialism then at the meat counter.
How many team trips on that rattling Harps fridge, I mean bus, he did for GAA teams I'd want to bring to matches involving the school! And he'd co-coach on the day with me, ever kind to even the least lovable hard chaw on the teams.
Heartfelt sympathy to Mary and all the relations on saying the last goodbye to such an exceptional person as Fenian.

I am so sorry to read about Finian passing away. Finian was my Dads roommate in Lusk Community Unit and I had so many lovely and interesting chats with him when I would be visiting. He's was a really lovely gentleman and I'm so very sorry to all your family for your loss.

My condolences to the Murray Family on the passing of Finian AKA Fenian . He taught me in the De La in the years 1967-1972. He had the patience of a Saint . He was kind and gentle and was a lovely man . His support for the Skerries Harps was total. Lord rest his blessed soul.

My sympathy and prayers are with all the Murrays today on the death of Finian. I know he had been sick for some time and latterly was only a shadow of the genial giant that I remember. He played a very positive role in the local community and was a positive influence on many people. I will be offering Mass for him today and praying for all who mourn for him. A true gent, as many others said great memories of Finian and bringing us to matches in the 'van' and the harps mini bus. He was the 'harps' for many years. The Skerries community, particularly the Harps, has lost one of it’s greatest stalwarts and will be forever in Finian’s debt.
Wonderful memories too of summer midweek evening adventures on the highways and backroads of Fingal in the back of his van for under-age football matches when he was usually manager, coach, selector, driver, first-aid man, umpire, linesman and sole Skerries spectator.
‘Take your points and the goals will follow’ was the mantra - he has now achieved his goal, having scored many great points throughout his life.
