Thank you to everyone who has shared their condolences and kindnesses following my dad's death on Saturday. There have been so many, and in the brief moments I've been able to glance through them they have brought such comfort. We were able to give dad the most joyful and peaceful celebration and sending forth, joined by members of our extended families in dad's home town of Mountmellick. Dad gave us the great gift of being able to join together with him, and our extended family to cry, laugh, pray, sing and share so many stories - which are the stream of life and tradition in all our veins. Thank you to everyone for sending your love to surround us. It is the continuing of life among us all. We laid dad's body in the grave alongside our mam's, yesterday, and the sun shone on faces, lighting our tears and smiles and the memory of him continuing through it all, and in each of us.

Rest in Peace dad. You gave us such an important example how to live in faith and with love and compassion. Your smile, your voice, the truth and sincerity of you remain in our memories and guide us in the next steps. From your loving daughter Catherine and son-in-law Ivan, Lemlair, Ross, Scotland.
