A week has passed since we heard of cousin Fiona’s passing and it is still hard to believe.
Fiona was 6 months younger than me but I admired and looked up to her. She was a beautiful special girl. I have lovely memories of sitting on the swing with Fiona in Rahasane and later on we had a great time in Knocknacarra. Fiona was popular with everyone and a treasured sister by all of her brothers.
Fiona’s funeral Mass and service in Shannon at the weekend was a fitting tribute to her. May she rest in peace.

Fiona rented a room to me. She was very kind and caring. Always putting the kettle on and looking out for everyone. She was so chatty and fun loving. I’m glad having known her. I’ll miss her. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam dilis.

So sad to hear Fiona passed away. We spent our first year's of school together in Ballymana National School, we played all the usual games and enjoyed them happy years in the late 60's and early 70's before the family moved to Athenry.
I can still remember John Joe, her Dad, driving them to school every morning in his station wagon, as I think they had the longest distance to come. There were no busses that time. Fiona and her brothers would arrive dressed beautifully. There was one of them in every class.
