Deepest condolences on the sad loss of Fíona. She was a colleague and friend for many years, and I have wonderful memories of our time in St. Francis J.N.S. She faced her illness with courage, living each day to its fullest, with her family and friends around her. I have very happy memories of the fun we had in The Park Singers with Blaithin and Fiona. I am humbled by the determination of Fiona and Fiachra to make such a major contribution to motor neuron research while battling the disease. Time to rest now Fiona.

While I had not met Fiona, we knew Fiachra and all the lovely family well from our childhood and youth on Ardcollum Avenue. And we also had known of Fiona’s terrible condition, which she unfortunately shared with our late father.
While nothing anyone can say will ease their grief, I hope they will take some comfort from the love and respect that Fiona has obviously inspired.
