I’ll miss Florrie. She was one of the first people I met when I moved to Ballycastle. Her appreciation for art was a great joy for her. I was away during her funeral so I missed saying goodbye. I’m so very sorry for your loss.

Florrie was a great woman full of beauty and a deep sense of humanity. Everyone who knew Florrie felt her love and kindness. Her love of art and her own paintings portrayed her beloved Ireland and those in her life so beautifully. We feel dearly blessed to have known her.

Florrie was a great friend to the late Madeleine Conmolly, Dublin. They shared great times together in Ballycastle where Madeleine spent many summers with her children and grandchildren. From my earliest memory of feiseanna in Ballycastle, and some as far away as Ballina & Crossmolina, Florrie was always there, supporting her family in whatever competition was on. That support moved on to Scór in later years. Florrie was always very kind & encouraging to all of us taking part in the competitions & that kindness has always remained with me. When I moved back to Mayo in the early 2000s, Florrie was again to the forefront in Community Work in North Mayo encouraging the arts, travel and community...... this time for her peers. I hope her artistic, community spirit will live on in her absence. Ag smaoineamh oraibh uilig ag an am uaigneach, brónach seo. Tabhair aire.
