I enjoyed many conversations with him over the years in Sligo, Cork and Tralee. Invariably, Rovers became the topic we discussed. It was my privilege knowing him. May he rest in peace.

Was once a regular at Friary 1.05pm weekday Mass and Fr Seamus had agreeably short sermons which a few of us began to know the punchlines over the years. A booklet to collect those thoughts would be a nice idea.

Best punchline of all though was what he once told my colleague Noel down at the back of the Friary: ‘There are three important things in Life. The Catholic Church, Manchester United and Sligo Rovers!’
