It was with great sadness, I learned of the passing of my dear friend Fr.Brendan Hoban. To his siblings John, Anne, Carmel, Sheila, Bernice,Claire together with the extended Hoban and Byrne families I extend our deepest sympathies to each one. Brendan was a wonderful friend from our days in primary school in Castlebar through our teenage years working in his parent's shop in Castle Street. Brendan had a great personality and a wonderful sense of humour, playing football he was 'as tough as teak'. His many visits to Ennis to visit my wife and 5 children. We will always have fond memories of those visits. God rest you Brendan. You deserve a high place in the Kingdom of The Lord R.I.P.

Fr Brendan was a warm kind caring person. I spoke with him on the phone a few weeks ago and we exchanged lots of family stories. He and all his family were wonderful neighbours to everyone on Westport Road. Go raibh leaba i measc na naomh aige.
