Sincerest sympathy to Fr. Conor's family, Jesuit confreres and friends on his recent death. We were saddened to learn of his illness and subsequent death. We had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know him at events in the Belgian and French Embassies in recent years. We were delighted that he christened our grandson, Garrett at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Donnybrook, at the beginning of 2020. May he rest in peace.

It was with great sadness that i heard at mass this Sunday morning of Conor's passing while on a visit up to Dublin.

I liked Conor a lot who i got to know when i would appear in Donnybrook church on Sundays during my regular visits to Dublin. He was always very welcoming towards me which i valved and we had a shared Clongowes interest even though he was not their during my time.

May Conor rest in peace and hope that those gone before him like Philip Fogarty etc will be there for him to introduce him to the next eternal life in whatever shape or form that will be.

On behalf of the KilBride family, I would like to express condolences to the Harper family and to his fellow members of the Society on the death of Conor. It was a privilege to be present in the Church of the Sacred Heart on Tuesday and to experience the warmth felt by the congregation for a beloved friend. We would endorse everything said by Bruce Bradley about his friend. There were many occasions when he was a generous friend to us; we remember particularly his moving tribute to our brother, Patrick, ('an honorary Jesuit') at his removal to the same church and we entertain ourselves by imagining their conversation now. May Conor rest in peace.

On behalf of the Clongowes Wood College Class of 1988 I offer our sincere condolences to the family of Fr Conor Harper S.J. and the Jesuit community. Conor was caring and considerate, and he gave us a great love of France and her language. He was an inspiring teacher who encouraged us to question. He was often willingly diverted during class to update us on the beatification Fr. John Sullivan S.J., or to debate ecumenical matters! We learned a lot of life lessons from Conor "Harry" Harper and we are all the better for his presence in our lives. He will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace.
Conor was one of the four musketeers who rode home from De La Salle Churchtown together. There was Paud Lavelle, Eugene Power, Conor and me. Often as we rode our bikes past the shops we would stop, check our pockets for pennies and if the search was fruitful we would buy some sweets and share them for the remainder of the adventure. And there were many adventures that we created during the four mile trip. We, as a group, were sometimes called to Berwick House in Churchtown by Brother Edward, the then games master, where we were tasked with painting the rugby posts. This alone is a testament that we were known as a solid group worthy of responsibility.
I live with my wife Joleen and our family in San Diego, California. When we have traveled to Ireland we have had the joy and privilege of getting together with great and dear friends including Conor. He was always so accommodating to me/us even though I/we knew that his schedule was tight and especially more recently as he faced his health challenges so bravely. Thank you dear Conor for being my/our friend.
Joleen and I offer our sincere condolences to Conor's family.

Sincere condolences to the extended Harper family and the Jesuit community in CWC. RIP Conor. From the get go our class hit it off with ‘Harry’ Harper as we fondly called him. He was witty, fierce (when required to get us in line) kind, gentle, funny, educated and always interested in educating his boys. He debated, and ran debating, he always made us look at things in different ways. He was class and classy and just a great man. And he made us say the odd prayer! So many great memories of him. I hope blessed John Sullivan S.J. is looking after him now. RIP
