Dearest Father Dan. All we are left with are memories. What lovely memories. Those memories will stay in my heart forever. R.I.P your earthly task is done and home you have gone.

I cannot begin to explain how incredibly grateful I am to have met you, and how lucky I was to spend 10 years as your Altar Server. You were with me for every moment- big or small, and your unwavering faith, grace, love (and humour) was a constant comfort. I wish I could’ve spent more time with you, hearing your stories, fixing your vestments, rooting through cupboards for new microphone batteries, handing you hymn books at the correct page so you could join in the final hymns! What I would give for one more pre-mass chat, and to sing beside you again. I know you are at peace, and I cannot wait for the day I can have another lung-crushing hug.

As our parish priest, you came to visit my parents, whom you hardly knew at the time, as they had recently moved to Richmond. My father was ill.
To help my busy mother, you fed him his tea, shaved him, held his hand and kept him company. Such love, such humility.
