I was so saddened to hear of Father Dara O’Brian passing. He was a remarkable man whose kindness, wisdom and faith touched so many lives. His dedication to his calling and warmth he shared with those around him will always be remembered.

I had the honour and pleasure of teaching Dara French in Presentation College Bray. He was a brilliant student who was very enthusiastic and always smiling. I can still see him in the classroom. How lucky was I to have him as a pupil. Of course I remember Enda and Tiernan who were also brilliant at French. May Dara rest in peace.

So very sorry for his family's loss but Dara is now reunited with God whom he loved. I remember him from the folk group in Queen of Peace and know I still have a tape of him somewhere singing and playing his guitar. He was an incredible and inspiring man who will be missed by many.

I was shocked and saddened when Gavin called me this morning to tell me about the death of Fr. Dara O’’Brien.

My sincere condolences to his Mum Pauline and to Blathain, Ciara, Tiernan and Enda. We have lovely memories of Dara during his years in Presentation College with our boys and of his family as neighbours on Putland Road.

Love and deepest sympathy to all of you. You and Dara are in my thoughts and prayers and I remember his late Dad, Malachy, at this time too. Dara has earned a special place in Heaven. May God have mercy on his soul.
