Sincere sympathy to Francis’s family and the Augustinian Community on his passing. We shared a desk during our first year in Farranferris. I fondly remember his kind and gentle disposition. May he rest in peace.

My sincere sympathy to the Aherne Family and the Augustinian Community on the death of Vinnie, I have many happy memories of him playing soccer and no doubt he is now playing with the first eleven in Heaven. He will be greatly missed, Rest in Peace Vinnie

My sincere sympathy to the Aherne family and the Augustinian communities on the recent death of Fr Vinny whom I got to know in Yola, Nigeria. He was a wonderful host and always available in a crisis.... in later years I knew him from his annual letter giving an update on the work of the Augustinians abroad. He will be greatly missed but can now enjoy the rewards of his dedicated years working for The Lord.

The members of the Drogheda Male Voice Choir were deeply saddened to learn of Fr Aherne’s demise. When in Drogheda he was a great friend & gave us wonderful support and encouragement on our formation. We sympathise with the Augustinian Order his family and friends on his sad departure from this life.

My sincere condolences to Tony and Barry and the Ahern family on the passing of Francis. A lovely person from lovely parents, who I knew from growing up at The Lough in the fifties and sixties. He attended a reunion of Lough Boys 7 years ago, and he thoroughly enjoyed that day.
