Fr. Gerard (Gerry) O'Meara

Our sincere condolences to Bernie, Esther and extended O'Meara family on the sad passing of Gerard. He was a lovely man with a wonderful smile. Gerard always came to visit his cousins when he was in Dublin. May Gerard rest in peace.

Our deepest sympathy to all the family and to all Gerry's colleagues in St. James. I was with Gerry for a few years in South America, I was based in Ecuador. I always found Gerry a perfect gentleman, great company and so kind hearted in his manner. When my wife and I visited Boston a couple of years back, we had a lovely enjoyable evening with him and David Costello in Clark street. We were so sad to hear of his sudden death and may he rest in peace now.

Sincere condolences to the O'Meara family and the Society of Saint James in Boston (headed by Father David Costello) . Sorry I missed him in Lima some years ago. He was a wonderful missionary and did marvelous work amongst the poor in that city. He always remained a true Limerick man. His place will be high among the saints in Heaven. May he rest in peace

Very saddened at being informed of Gerry’s death. Sincere sympathy and prayers to all the family. He was always kind, warm, and welcoming in Lima when I visited from Ecuador during my time there and also when I returned from London. His missionary spirit and enthusiasm was inspirational. May he now rest in peace and rise in glory.

Shocked to hear of Gerrys sudden death. Have many wonderful memories of Gerry. The world is a poorer place without him. He touched the lives of so many people. To his fellow priests in Saint James Society we extend our prayers and especially to his family and extended family our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I had the pleasure of first meeting Gerry in 1979. What a blessing! I last met him this past January in Lima. He was "a priceless gem" of a man. May he Rest eternally with the Risen Lord of Life.

SIncere condolences to all Gerry's extended family. We met Gerry a couple of years ago in Lima, when we were visiting Raymond, Brian's brother, a confrere of Gerry's. He was a lovely, friendly and welcoming man - once met, never forgotten. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dilis.
