Feeling for you very much on the death of your beloved Fr John. I knew him when he was based in St Alban's, North Finchley then really enjoyed seeing him when he was well enough to do cover. A man of great wisdom & craic which I greatly benefited from when we met.

JOHN’S native City of Cork and his Alma Mater, The North Monastery mourn the loss of one of its most loyal past pupils.Many years ago, a feature Article in Cork’s famed Holly Bough read “4 Mon Boys in Kenya”. The Article’s Author, FR. JOHN, served a virtual lifetime in Kenya as a member of St. Patrick’s Missionary Society.
On the 22nd May, 2023, we were deeply honoured that FR. JOHN was one of the 14 Concelebrating Priests at a special Thanksgiving Mass to honour the immense contribution of the Christian Brothers to Education in Cork for over 200 years.

Sad news. Fr John had planned a trip for us to Spike but he has gone on a more sublime journey. We had covered Gougane, Sams Cross, Kilmichael, Crossbarry and Béal na Bláth. The day would always end with us dining over relaxed conversation. He sure knew how to choose and enjoy one glass of Bordeaux wine. What a delightfully entertaining man of Faith.
