To j j family and his religious community..sincere sympathy..j j was a wealth of history and of times past..always on a history trail...rest easy now.
I offer my sincere sympathy to the Redemptorist Community and to the relatives and friends of Fr. John J. it was a joy to have known him. He compiled books and booklets on the lives of the early Irish saints and on Celtic spirituality. He was a parish missionary for some years and spent time on the Scottish island of Iona. He published The Iona Pilgrim’s Manual and A Redemptorist Prayer Book He has left a wonderful legacy of tradition and folklore to the people of Duhallow and to his native Kiskeam with his publications such as Kiskeam and that Way Back, Where Araglen So Gently Flows, Kiskeam versus the Empire and he published a tome of a book on the life and works of the local poet Edward Walsh under the title A Tragic Troubadour. May he rest in peace.
