To the Grace family and to the family of St. Patrick’s Society, we extend our sincere and deepest condolences, on the sad loss of dear Fr. Ned. His beautiful, welcoming smile was very often our first encounter as we visited our brothers and uncles, Fr. Benny Bohan and the late and sadly missed, Fr. JP Bohan, in Kiltegan.
Fr. Ned's presence was very often what enhanced our joyful visits to Kiltegan, and equally, at times of sadness for our family, he was there to support us, and to add a beautiful profundity to our sadder times of losing and ultimate loss, of JP.
Fr. Ned always had the most fitting, gentle words, to soothe the soul and calibrate the moment. His stunning art work was deeply appreciated by us, and indeed we were the proud recipients of a beautiful print, a swan gliding on the lake in the grounds of SPS.
We feel blessed to have been part of Fr. Ned's large circle of friends. We will treasure the last photos we have of him, with Benny, at the Christmas tree 2023. We saw Fr. Ned for the last time, a few weeks ago, in attendance at 11 am Mass. We are saddened to know now, that it was our last time to meet our dear and lovely friend, Fr. Ned Grace. May his gentle soul rest now, in eternal peace.

My sisters and I have fond memories of summers in the 70's when Fr Ned introduced us to tennis in Tullaroan. It was great fun and a great pastime for teenagers at the time. So many spent endless hours, days and weeks for many summers on the court at the back of the hall. Fr Ned arranged little competitions for us.If we didn't have a tennis racket, he would always provide one. Special times for us. R.I.P Fr Ned.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Fr. Ned, a true friend, confidant, and, in many ways, an adopted grandfather. My memories of him are filled with warmth—from playing the accordion in Kilamote as we practiced our ‘1, 2, 3s’ around the kitchen to sharing stories of distant places like Nigeria. Fr. Ned fostered in us a sense of curiosity that made us believe the world was ours to explore. He taught us not to fear travel, faith, or taking chances. Now, as an adult, I realise how invaluable the time and patience he offered us truly were—treasures that will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace Fr. Ned xx

Ned was a wonderful friend to our dear uncle Fr. PJ Melican during his life, particularly during his ill-health in Kiltegan. It was through this friendship that we were fortunate and privileged to have Ned in our lives.

In 2012, we were blessed & honoured to have Ned marry us in Co.Clare and later give us a family blessing with our children in one of the many visits to Kiltegan.

We always loved meeting Ned in Kiltegan. We will remember Ned as a wonderful kind, humble, warm & humorous man with a gift for painting and a love for Kilkenny. A very special person who made this world a brighter place.

You have finished the race, fought the good fight, and kept your faith.

Fr Ned,

I am truly sad to hear of your passing, but am honoured to have had the chance to learn so much from you over the years in both life, faith and the area of engineering.

Fr Ned, you always backed the underdog and always saw the best in everyone. Your prayers over the years brought great solice to so many including myself when we needed them most. You made mass and the connection with God so approachable with one of your famous phrases being "Say your prayers when and where you can, and mass is wherever your needed most, if thats at work or other activities thats where it is on that day"

Only last week we visited Gougane Barra, the location of one of your beautiful paintings. We lit a candle for you and spoke of you as we walked around.

Fr Ned, you were a true Gentleman, a kind, caring and unbelievably talented engineering mind. We are all so lucky to have been able to call our friend. May God welcome you into hevan with open arms and we will keep you in our memories forever more.

We offer our sincere condolences to the Grace family and Fr. Ned's dear friends over the years from kiltegan, Ogoja, Lagos and Bomadi, Nigeria but most importantly the place and people he loved so much at Home in Kilkenny.

Rest in Peace Fr Ned.
