Sincere sympathy to the Collins Family at the passing of Fr Neil. A very gentle and kind person who took time to meet and greet people. We had a lovely time with him and Fr Colm (RIP) in Dalgan a few years ago. May he rest in peace.
I was fortunate to have many a good chat with Neil on our strolls around Dalgan.RIP.
Rip Fr Neil.. You were a fantastic guide for us in our youth... Doing everything to make life exciting and learned.. May the angels sing your praises in Paradise...

I participated in a Faith and Mission renewal course in Dalgan with Neil in 1981 I met him several times since in Dalgan He was always welcoming and good company I enjoyed being with him As we would say a Columban ‘den scoth’ talented and witty. Above all a good priest
May he rest in peace and may all who mourn him find comfort in our Faith
Mr Collins (Fr Neil) gave us chances to be on stage, go on trips & learn skills we didn't think we could. He made a huge difference to our lives.

Neil taught the class nobody wanted to teach, put them on stage, brought them on trips & got them to develop skills they thought they never could.
His influence still lives on.

Very saddened by the passing of Fr Neill, who was a gentle and loving soul. Always friendly and kindly, he will be remembered by all who had the good fortune to chat with him or listen to his homilies at Mass.

Sincere condolences to the family and friends of Fr.Neil. My 3 year old son speaks fondly of him after meeting him on a number of occasions out walking in Dalgan Park. He would always stop and chat to Seán, he was a gentleman. May he rest in peace

Caroline Dalgan Reception
On my many walks in Dalgan, I often stopped to chat with Fr. Neil.
He always had a smile and our conversations usually ended with a joke. My sincere condolences to Fr Neil's family and to his Columban family . We often talked about nature and the wonderful birds all around us. Rest in peace Fr. Neil and may the birds of paradise welcome you along with the angels.
I was saddened to hear of Fr. Neil’s passing. My sincere condolences to his family in Swatragh and his Columban brothers. I had the privilege of knowing Fr. Neil in his role as a Columban historian. I am forever grateful to him for his generosity with his time and his willingness to share information. He was also such an interesting person to converse with, with so many wonderful stories. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Sincere sympathy to all Fr Neil's family & all who are saddened by his passing. Neil spoke so warmly of his visits to Swatragh and very specially of his memories of Jean. During his walks in Dalgan he befriended many and kept contact with some of the people in the Philippines with whom he had worked. As priest, teacher and friend he recognized potential and encouraged many people. As a historian, he has left a rich Columban legacy.
