Fr Niall O'Leary

Sincere condolences to Marjorie and family on the passing of Fr. Niall. May he rest in peace.

Fr Niall was an exceptional priest who dedicated his life to service, both in the lay and in the military. His character was perfectly suited to a life in uniform where his natural gregarious, no-nonsense approach was hugely appreciated. Never one to sit on ceremony, he would always add a bit of devilment and entertainment to proceedings. Never more so than when he was in the middle of company, bashing the piano keys and enjoying the applause. Was the CBC motto Certa Bonum Certamem ever more appropriate?

Thinking of you all in this time of loss and remembering at Mass your dear Fr. Niall and all your beloved departed.

Sincerest sympathies to Marjorie, Sars and the extended O’Leary family on the passing of our dear cousin Niall. He was a larger than life character and always fun to be with. We have loving memories of him and his immediate family in Park View so many years ago.
I attended a few of his masses some years ago and no better man to give a sermon! And again, to discuss the life and times of James Joyce - of whom he was an expert.
Our thoughts and condolences are with the family group going to California for his funeral and with Marjorie, Sars, Carmel and family at this sad time.

To all who mourn Fr. Niall, his sister Marjorie, extended family, Mgr. Clem Connolly, and all who Fr. Niall ministered to in Los Angeles and beyond, I offer my deepest condolances.

While not knowing him personally, having had an Uncle who served both in Nigeria and the USA, I know the sense of loss but also the sense of celebration for someone so loved who is now in his eternal home in Heaven, rewarded for a life of service well lived.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.
