My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Kiltegan community and the family of Fr. Oliver
Oliver was known affectionally as Ollie during my time in Kiltegan during the Spiritual Year 1971- 72. He was our Dean with Fr Paddy Hagan our Spiritual Director. Ollie was one gentleman, and to this day I owe him one thing and that is getting me of the cigarettes. I had the pleasure of meeting him over the last few years on my visits to Kiltegan. May his gentle soul Rest in Peace.

I have wonderful memories of growing in faith at the Cathedral Parish in St George's Grenada, where Fr. Oliver had a significant impact on my faith journey, I'm so grateful for his spiritual nurturing, kindness, leadership and gentleness. He has truly inspired who I am today. He celebrated the Mass of my First Profession of Religious Vows in Ireland in 1996, of which I am ever so grateful. May he rest peacefully in God's eternal love and mercy.

Our deepest condolences on the passing of Father Oliver. We have such wonderful memories of his visits when he was back from the missions telling us all his amazing stories. And of course the visit from The Spice Island Youthquake was a fantastic, colourful, uplifting experience - definitely stands out in my memories from the 80s! RIP Fr Oliver ❤️

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Father Leavy. He was a lovely priest may he R.I.P. We as a family enjoyed listening to him at mass. My sons were always engaged in the masses. God bless him

Many of us from Kinnegad fondly recall the wonderful occasion when Fr. Oliver brought the Spice Island Youthquake concert to our home village. As young children in the 1980s it was mesmerising to witness such a spectacle and left a lasting impression to this day. Thank you Fr. Oliver for this special memory.

Oliver was special in so many ways for his leadership, courage, reliability, integrity and vision.
A devout humble man who met both the spiritual and social needs of his parishioners; especially the very young.
Olivers leading role in Youthquake forged new cultural links bringing Caribbean music song and dance to new audiences far and wide.
Youthquake provided travel opportunities to Grenada’s youth and developed cultural links between Ireland and Grenada.
Through Youthquake’s music and dance, a home for the aged was built in Guave. Many other projects included a candle making factory and a sewing centre.
In 2001 Oliver played a leading role in organising a tribute to the work of Irelands missionaries overseas. Following months of preparation, aided by his nice Olive, Mission Alive was born.
Supported by the Irish Missionary Union it brought thousands both from across Ireland and overseas to special events and exhibits in Dublin's RDS exhibition halls.
Oliver you have left and indelible mark on those who have travelled life’s path with you.
