Fr. Owen McGreal

We were so grateful to have been able to view the funerals of Fr. Owen over the internet. My parents, Anna and Mike Coyne, would have been overjoyed and amazed to have been able to participate like this in the many years past. Thank you all for keeping our families connected even though we were an ocean apart. My siblings have a few memories and many stories of the McGreal family to share with our children. The veil is thin between Heaven and Earth. May Fr Owen continue to shine his light from Heaven. Eternal rest upon him and all our family.

To the family of Father Owen we wish to extend our sincere condolences. We knew Fr Owen through our mother, the late, Maura Allen, Saundersfoot, Wales.
Father was a great strength, support and friend for many, many years to Maura. Every year when he was heading back to Ireland on his holidays, she used to say, " Now father have a great time in Ireland, but dont forget to come back to do my funeral mass" They both used to have a great laugh together.
Fr. Owen did indeed celebrate Mauras funeral mass. He made the whole occasion very special for all her other friends and family.
A lovely, gentle caring man.

Deepest sympathy to Austie and Pádraig. Owenie visited our various homes in Westport , Navan and Dundalk and was always a welcome guest. My parents, Micheál and Delia loved his visits and I always found him very calming and cheerful, even though we thought it strange he showered at night rather than in the morning ! My practical mother thought "won't your hair be wet going to bed?" I couldn't be present at his removal/funeral but at least I met him briefly at his brother Micheál's funeral. He visited my late sister Áine in Tralee after my parents passed away. Great to have known him and one of the great excitements of my childhood was his ordination occasion in Westport.
