We were blessed to have had Father Godley as our Priest at Holy Family. So many wonderful memories as a child growing up. Candy at field day, St. Patrick’s Day assemblies with all of his fun songs, seeing him at the horse races or being treated to ice cream if we saw him at the mall. The faith, kindness and love will never be forgotten. I know Father Godley had an endless welcoming party in heaven and lives on with all of us that had the honor of knowing him.

If an individual ever was aptly named it was Pat Godley. He was our pastor at Holy Family Church in Auburn, Washington for years and during his tenure he became much more than a pastor - he became a dear family friend. Home visits, meals, golf games, trips and hundreds of conversations were shared over decades of friendship. If we missed one of his calls, his message always began with "this is the Godley one..." and Godley he was! His wisdom, compassion, genuine interest and holiness were all encompassing. And then there was his sense of humor!. Even though he's been gone from Auburn for many, many years, the news of his passing brought comments not only from those who knew him but also from those who never met him but had heard stories about him - some repeated to this day. Fr. Pat lived his faith and made those of us who knew and loved him better people just from knowing him. Our sincere condolences to his family. May he rest in peace. We will meet again!

I have many fond memories of Paddy. When was newly ordained 37 years ago,he was always a great source of encouragement and support. I was assigned to his golfing buddy, Fr Pat O’ Neill, so I saw him quite often in those years. I know that people loved him wherever he was assigned. We are grateful for the many years he served the people of God in the Archdiocese of Seattle.

Fr. Godley was our pastor at Holy Family church in Auburn Washington. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. We will be forever grateful for the reassuring words and support he provided for us during a difficult time of our lives. We were blessed to be a part of his flock. Being Godley will help him get to heaven quicker. Rest in peace.

Fr. Paddy was a Vice President of the Brendans Board and one of our great players of the 1950s and of course also had a fine career in the green & gold with county minor and senior teams, winning an All Ireland minor championship in 1946 and two Munster SFC medals in 1950 & 51. We were delighted to be able to honour Fr. Paddy’s achievements in recent years. Condolences again to family.
