Fr Pat, Kevin and I are going to miss you so so so very much. Your prayers, love, care, support and thoughtfulness you showered Kevin and me were quite extraordinary. You were always the first one to send Christmas and Easter blessings each year. Your lovely emails brought so much joy and inspiration we looked forward hearing from you each time. My Mom and I treasured our happy times together during our visit with you in Ireland with your gracious and amazing hospitality. One year, together with you and my Mom, brought the Cebu Sinulog to Dublin because of your desire to keep our Filipino traditions alive in Ireland. Fr. Pat thank you so much for all the undying love, care and support to all the Filipinos all over the world. There are no words to adequately express our deepest gratitude to you Fr Pat - there will never be another Fr Pat in the world!
Thank you Fr Pat for your prayerful support all these years and you will always be in our hearts forever.

I'm deeply saddened by the news of Fr. Pat's passing. He is a very dear friend and chaplain to our Filipino community. He gave his life to serve and be of service for everyone. I will miss him immensely. No more emails and or text messages from now on Fr. Pat. Your memory will remain engraved deep in my heart. I may be here in Australia for close to 17 yrs now, but you never cease communicating with me. You made me feel so special. Always enthusiastic in hearing stories about my family life, my growing boys and how happy you are seeing all our photos that I shared on fb messenger. Truly a one of a kind priest and friend. I will love you forever and miss all our exchange of emails and text messages. I told you that one day, you'll meet my boys when I go back to Ireland for a visit. I'll keep my promise. I'll cherish the first Sinulog we did in Dublin at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. It was with madame Luz Sandiego and Sandra Sandiego Volker (mother and sister of my choreographer Val Sandiego in Cebu City, Philippines). You found out I'm a Sandiego Dance Troupe member. From then on, I committed myself in helping you with religious dance activities. Thank you. It was my great honor and privilege to help you spread and continue our religious traditions in Irish soil. Rest peacefully now in the comfort and loving embrace of our Lord.

I have great memories of the O’Connell Priests coming home to Annakisha on holidays, especially Fr. Paddy, as he often drove the tractor when we were bringing in the small bales. We heard many stories about the time he spent in the Philippines. He was always in good humour and a pleasure to meet.
The last time we met was in Annakisha in August 2019 at his celebration Mass.
