I should like to sympathise with the sister and brothers of Fr Patrick. He was one of those priest/teachers for whom I had undying admiration: his scholarship, his humility, his kindness. In particular, I admire the way he retired as Professor and took up parish work with enthusiasm. What an example! Leaba i measc na naomh go raibh aige.
I offer my sincere sympathy to Fr. Patrick's family. I have happy memories of him as a gentle teacher in St. Patrick's College, Maynooth.
