Fond memories of Fr Paul at the Gonzaga prep school in the early 1980s - a thorough gentleman. Rest in Peace.
He taught me maths and coached shivering, knee-shaking under 12 rugby players at Crescent primary in Limerick city. Always in command, and always with a sense of humor and humanity. No matter how big your opponent, or how fearful his gait, always remember, go for his knees, he'd say. It was advice I heeded, and passed on, both on and off the rugby pitch. May he rest in peace in heaven's clubhouse.
I had the privilege of caring for Fr Paul when I worked at Cherryfield. He was a lovely, kind person who had a smile for everyone. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
