Sincere condolences to those who knew Fr. Waldron whose hearts may ache and tears may flow. He was one of my idols as a child when I listened to him at Mass and he brought me joy with his words and song. Truly honoured to have been there.

As a former classmate of Fr Peter in Maynooth 1956 -1963, I express my sympathy to his family. Peter was our class Senior and was always a very effective leader. He was a good friend to me and organised the 1963 class gathering at the time of my appointment as bishop in 1988. I enjoyed his company any time we met over the years. I will offer this morning’s web cam Mass at 9.30 a.m for him. May the Lord have mercy on him.

A deep sadness descended on Kilcoona when we learned of the death of a true friend of the parish.
On his arrival here in the late 70s, he immediately set about improving all aspects of life in the parish. His energetic diligence in pursuit of a new school was embellished with numerous and varied fundraisers until the ultimate goal was achieved in 1989, the beginning of what is now the present and colourful academy of learning, Kilcoona N.S. His sermons to his captive audience, most notably in the administration of the sacraments, were always a celebration. Every ceremony was delivered with flair, flamboyance, panache, music and professionalism. His vision and organisational skills were a joy as he used his charisma to entice everyone along with him.
