My sincere condolences to all the family & confreres of Wilfie, as he was affectionately known in my year at CITC. His lectures were better than many a sermon and I still quote him in my own sermons 20 years later. “Don’t ask is it true! Ask what does it mean!” May his beautiful soul now rest in peace.

Deepest condolences for the loss of dear Fr Wilfred, my earliest memories are of you visiting my grandmother in Clash and the big bars of chocolate you always brought with you.

Wilfrid was such a lovely human being, so kind and encouraging. I owe him a great deal for his various suggestions on what new books I should read and indeed getting me to write homily outlines for publication in scripture in church.
He has left behind an admirable memory as a Christian a scholar and a warm human being.

It was with great sadness that I heard of Fr. Wilfred's passing. Growing up he was a man to whom my parents always held in high regard, which was transferred to us, least of all due to family ties, but because of his devotion to his faith and wonderful cheerful demeanor which shone from within. He was a lovely man who is fondly remembered. My sympathies to his Brothers and family at this sad time.

How comforting it must be for family of Fr.Wilfrid to hear that Jesus came to/ for him last Wednesday.He must have had sighting of Jesus within the light.
Such a lovely way for him to pass from this world to next.

Fondly remembering Fr Wilf this morning as we hear also the sad news from Rome. Wilf was an outstanding teacher, breaking open the Scriptures, whose influence lives on in all his students. I was fortunate enough to be among them in Tallaght 1993-1995. Sending my condolences to Wilf's family and his Dominican family. May your light shine on in Heaven Wilf, Rest in Peace.

A really great scholar. A man of prayer and integrity. His work will remain as a source of inspiration to people interested in a deeper understanding of the Bible.

I had the privilege of attending his Scripture Classes for four years in St Marys Studium Tallaght.

These classses were memorable and inspiring- where Wilfrid imparted his deep love and knowledge of the Scriptures with an energy in his own inimicabe style.
I continue to this day to read the Scriptures thanks to this remarkable teacher and preacher.
May His gentle soul rest now with the Lord.
