Francie (Frank) Flaherty

What a beautiful soul you were, a selfless and great grand dad that God gave to me and all Africa/ Nigeria in Barrow in Furness (United Kingdom), taking each of us on driving lessons free of charge, even those outside Barrow that we introduced to you benefited from your selfless service. You went all the way to sort out a car for me to buy prior my driving test and you drove me to the exam center, gave me a relaxing spray so that i will not be nervous, it takes an Angel in human form to be as selfless as you were. Words failed me since i heard of your transition, I will surely miss you. Whenever me or my husband have any issue with our car when we were still in UK, we usually call you first and you always guide us through , even on your sick bed, you were still caring and amazing. Keep resting grandad, your memory lives on.

Condolences to the Hamilton and Flaherty families on the passing of Francie (Frank) Flaherty, Beaghmore. He was a loyal supporter of Caherlistrane GAA & played for the club in the 1950's. He later emigrated to the UK but his heart always remained in his native Caherlistrane. He often returned for matches big and small, as well for festival and community events.

Grandad was a tremendous help to me and a lot of people, and I am deeply grateful for everything he did. He went above and beyond to support, push, and motivate me, and alot of people, especially in helping me succeed in my driving test. His belief in me played a huge role in my achievements.Driving lessons was filled with joy and laughter, he was always on time, never missed any practices.

Meeting him was truly a blessing. He celebrated my success with such genuine joy, a feeling many others were fortunate to experience as well.

His passing came as a great shock and is a profound loss. I take comfort in knowing that he rests peacefully, aware of the many lives he touched positively and the successes he helped others achieve, he will be greatly missed.

Dear Grandad as I always call you, words would fail me to describe your impactful life:

Every time I’m behind the wheel, I hear your voice telling me to stay calm and watch the road. Thank you for the free driving lessons and the priceless love. You were the best father figure a person could ask for this years in the UK.

May your precious soul continue to rest in the bossom of the Lord Jesus Christ 🙏🏼😢

Grand dad as we all call him was a huge part of my life; from selflessly teaching me how to drive at no charge, to helping me fix my car when it broke...to all of the lovely holiday cards, chocolate and flowers he delivered to my house without fail every year and all the helpful tips he offered me and my family. His good deeds are too numerous to mention.

His death is truly a sad one and he will be greatly missed. I can only hope to carry on in the love he so happily poured out and pray that when my time on earth is up, I would have lived half as good a life as Frank did.

Praying peace and comfort for his family who he loved so dearly.

When I broke the news of my passing my driving test to you, you were all over the moon with joy and told me the number is now 150.
