Francis (Frank) Loughlin

I've known Frank for very many years through our mutual involvement in transport matters. His enthusiasm and keen interest in practically everything was a great encouragement to all, along with his generosity in sharing his expertise and knowledge. He leaves many happy memories to be cherished and treasured. My sympathy to all the family.

I am sorry to learn of Frank's passing. He was great for organising and entertaining us on excursions and events og the Chartered Institute of Transport. I particularly remember the Zeppelin Museum at Friedrichshafen, the Military Museum at the Curragh and the restoration of Sliabh na mBan, and various commemorations of the Bremen flight. I was so saddened to hear of Frank's death. Our deepest sympathies to Bernadette, Aonghus, Louise and extended family. My Fridays with Frank in the RNLI were full of stories, laughter and learning. We shared a love of Leitrim, Boxty and McGahern which sealed a lovely friendship. He was a wonderful kind man and I will think of him often RIP Frank.
