Minnie, Anne Marie, John, Fiona, Christina, Linda, grandchildren, in-laws and the extended Goaley and Mulryan families. Please accept this as a token of our sincerest condolences to you all on the death of Francis.
The word gentleman rested easily on Francis as this is what he was. Francis was an ally and contributor to our school. His 5 children all attended and both he and Minnie supported their family and the school community in every possible way, no task was ever too much of a burden for Francis. His wisdom and methodical approach was often called upon and he was intuitive to the needs of the school in helping secure necessary funding which at the time was very scarce. The fine building that we have today is testimony to the foresight and fundraising efforts of Francis and his comrades.
Since 2006 we've know him as Grandad Goaley, his beautiful smile as he collected his grandchildren, his presence at at all school occasions most especially Grandparents Day where he and Minnie shone with unbridled joy. Never an event went by without him thanking us, we felt enriched and privileged in his presence.
To Killian, Cara, Mia, Seán, Jay, Elly and Lucy we know how much he meant to you all, if prayers could have kept him alive the beauty and sincerity that Jay, Elly and Lucy prayed for grandad over the last 2 years meant he should live for ever.
