We have many happy memories of our times spent together in Jerusalem, Cyprus, Beirut etc. and when all of you were born. Frank loved his tennis and continued playing it for years after retirement. Sincere condolence to all the McHugh family on the death of Frank. I first met Frank in Beirut in 1975 even though the places in Glenfarne where we grew up were only 3 miles apart. In 1979 we where neighbours in Rawalpindi where we had adjoining houses. Sometimes we would walk across the fields to the UN Office. Our path took us across a railway and one morning Frank said kneel down there at the rails I want to show you something. He said look at the inscription on the rails which read "Sligo Leitrim and Northern Counties Railway(SLNCR). They had been recycled from the railway that ran between Sligo and Enniskillen and closed in 1957.
Frank was a thorough gentleman and was very hospitable and always ready to lend a helping hand. He was one of the great characters of UN Peacekeeping. I am sure he is now enjoying a few "scoops" with all his old pals in heaven. May he rest in eternal peace with Norrie.
