Francis P. (Frank) Muldowney

Kathy, I offer a voice from the past, remembering how our fathers worked together briefly during your Dad's sabatical in San Francisco. I know they enjoyed their time together very much, and it's with sadness that I read the news of his passing. I would love to catch up when the time is right for you, but very much wanted to reach out with my remembrances for now. You and your family are very much in my thoughts.

Sincere sympathy to the Muldowney family on the passing of an exceptional medic who only accepted the highest standards of medical care for his patients. Academically brilliant ,tough but fair ,he was a wonderful mentor and his early advise helped me in my surgical career.When it came to Medicine he used to say that a clinician can never be careless and take anything for granted when coming to a diagnosis. History taking can never be neglected.All his staff worked long hours but he rewarded me in the middle of one working day by driving me to a rugby match --those lost hours I made up for that night!

I had the privilege of working in the 'Metabolic' laboratory SVUH under Frank's directorship. Frank was a brilliant physician and wonderful mentor. May he rest in peace.
