I was so sad to hear we won't get to have another music session with Frank. He was always a pure gent and great craic. Whenever Frank was in the Crane of a Saturday night, you knew you were in for a great night. He loved the songs as well as the tunes and he'd always encourage me to sing, saying to me "give us an auld song Mick", I'd say "Will you back me up Frank?" He'd reply "what key??" I'd counter "key of D, don't let me down now", Frank - "No Problem". He'd kind of hoist up his hip and put the harmonica to his mouth and give you the nod, and we were away on a musical carousel. And such was the way our Saturday night session in the Crane would go, we were in the craic corner of the session, where all the messers and craicsters were, and a few good musicians among us to, Frank being the ring leader. "That's Franks seat" was a regular utterance to anybody who wasn't in the know, and dared to sit on Franks seat. Frank was a great character, full of heart, his spirit lives on, full flight, in the rest of us musical pilgrims, ar dheis dé go raibh a hanam dilis, Mick Brown
