I was so sorry to hear today that dear Frank had left us when I called to visit him in Kiltipper Woods today. We became friends when I was recuperating in their wonderful care in 2022 and I will be forever grateful to him for his encouragement and good humour every time we met since then. To all of Frank's family, whom he spoke of most fondly and with grear pride, and to all the staff in Kiltipper Woods where he was much loved, I extend my sincerest sympathies and I know that Frank is watching over you now. Rest easy dear Frank, reunited with your loved ones, you brought a lot of light to a lot of people's lives. And of course I'll always remember you when I see 'Ireland's Own'. Codladh sámh mo stór.

I had the pleasure of meeting Frank over 10 years ago in the Killinarden Art Class, he is a true gentleman, his stories were those of legends and his baked treats weekly kept us all in the class very happy indeed. His use of the fan brush in his paintings would give Bob Ross a run for his money. A true character, a friend, a gentleman, Greatly missed from the class, but now from us all.

I was saddened to read the news of Mr Lane’s passing. I grew up around the corner from the Lane family.
I remember vividly on our school trip being taken to Leinster House and Mr Lane was working that day and he was so nice to us all, he made our day so very special.
Thank you for leaving a lovely childhood memory with me. To all the Lane family May all the happy memories and funny memories that your Dad has left with you bring you some comfort in the difficult days ahead.

To say I'll miss Frank would be an understatement. Frank was a gentlemen. He will be missed. He was a huge part of Rosewood & Kiltipper Woods. Always loved.

A true Gentleman, Frank will be so missed, A wonderful friend, who always had an ear to listen and some solid advice to follow.

As a young private in the FCA, ‘B’ Coy. 7th Bn, in the late 60s early 70s, I was privileged to benefit from your military wit and wisdom!
A brilliant NCO and instructor, especially first time on the range firing rifle and Bren gun ! Your leadership and inspiration followed me into a career in the Air Corps, where I retired as Flight Sergeant!
